Listening to a recorded talk on meditation and prayer recently, I was reminded that a way to increase our ability to meditate and quiet our thoughts is to go out into nature and simply listen. Many of us instinctively have done this for years. The goal of meditation is to quiet our thoughts and experience our connection to source, to the oneness of all things. Our little streams, birds, apple trees and small forest creatures offer this gift to us every day.
Listening to a small stream will quiet the mind, allowing for the space to experience the wonder of the all connectedness of the universe. This is meditation, and not, as some people say, like meditation.
Prayer also can take many forms outside of the traditional avenues. Prayer is acknowledging that there is a greater source of light that can help us with our human dilemmas, is it not? I say light, because love and light are synonymous in many cultures. The term light worker has been applied to healers and helpers of all kinds who through love and healing work raise the vibrations of the earth and its inhabitants.
In my training, I have learned that the specific wording of prayer is important when we are asking for something. Studies have been conducted on the power of prayer in healing illness, sometimes with spectacular results. Most people say that intention overrides the specificity of the words themselves, but research shows that the results are sometimes greatly magnified when the right words are used.
We know, for example, that the vital energy of our food is raised with prayer. Bless everything you eat and drink, I remind everyone. Does this make a difference? The energy of food can be measured in different ways, through dowsing and through instrumentation. If you not only use a blessing you may have learned at home, but also ask for the vibration of the food to be raised for our highest good, the energy of the food is greatly amplified. These things can be measured, today, providing us with curious information!
When you practice these two things, you bring yourself into the knowing that we have a core of light within us and that there are angels and light beings we cannot see who are around us all the time. It is in the quiet, or in the prayer answered, that we confirm this for ourselves. You can feel them, if you know the signs, when beings of love are closely present.
I began today’s blog with the intention of recording some new information I received this weekend at a Mind Body Spirit conference in Marblehead, MA. Received via a friend using an angel tarot deck, that is, and not channeled! I already have been told by several channelers that I have the energy of Elijah around me. So I sat up when I read the description of this Archangel from my Aura-Soma card (that was all new to me, too) of Archangel Sandalphon, who I had never heard of:
Archangel Sandalphon is often experienced as being “very down to earth” and as having a loving and friendly sense of humor. He has a beautiful turquoise color energy and the gemstone turquoise is aligned with his vibration. Archangel Sandalphon is extremely sensitive and understanding of our experience within the physical realm and he is a devoted ally to realizing our divine consciousness while fully embracing and experiencing our physical existence.
Archangel Sandalphon and his twin brother, Metatron, are the only archangels who were once mortal men. Sandalphon lived as the prophet Elijah and Metatron was the wise scribe Enoch. Elijah made his ascension to heaven via a horse drawn chariot of fire and light.

See the big picture, rise up and see the big picture, we are told. If you want to be able to do this, try this specific wording: I want to see the big picture. This wording acts as a prayer and will bring you closer to being able to do so. All this helps raise us above our dramas, our looped worries and endless lists of things to do. Our ability to see the big picture is linked to health, immunity and happiness.
This is all nonsense, until you get it. So please, learn how to see the big picture. You are so much more than you know.
Yours in health,
